A Fort Wayne man has been arrested and charged with setting two southeast-side fires in the past three months.
Daniel Wayne Lopresti, 25, was booked into Allen County Lockup on Wednesday after being interviewed by a Fort Wayne Fire Department investigator. According to court documents, he also has admitted to four other arsons in the area.
Lopresti is accused of setting a fire at a home divided into three apartments in the 500 block of Hendricks Street on July 17, and another fire at an unknown location Wednesday. The addresses of the other four arsons were censored in court documents.
Lopresti lives in the 500 block of Hendricks and had been a “person of interest” in the investigation into the fires for some time, according to court documents.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department has been investigating arsons on Jackson and Hendricks streets throughout the summer.
