Northwest Allen honors four teachers of the year

Two elementary and two secondary teachers were named Teachers of the Year on Monday at Northwest Allen County Schools.

Michelle Stoffel, a teacher at Hickory Center, and Jodie Zimmermann, a teacher from Huntertown were named Elementary Teachers of the Year. Abby Tigulis, a teacher from Maple Creek Middle School, and Melissa Rife, a teacher from Carroll High School, were named Secondary Teachers of the Year.

Stoffel has worked for the district since 1992 and now teaches second grade at Hickory Center Elementary School. Zimmerman joined NACS in 2003. She currently teaches third grade at Huntertown Elementary School. Tigulis, who began work with NACS in 1999, now teaches seventh- and eighth-grade social studies at Maple Creek Middle School. Rife, who has worked in the district since 2002, currently teaches special education classes at Carroll High School.
