The master of historical interpretation is at it again.

“Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States” is on at 8 p.m. today on Showtime. The special focuses on “The Cold War: Truman, Wallace, Stalin, Churchill & the Bomb,” as viewers will witness Winston Churchill making his Iron Curtain speech and the birth of McCarthyism.

The filmmaker is well known for his historical interpretations “J.F.K.,” “Nixon,” “Salvador” and “W.”

For this special, Stone teamed with Peter Kuznick, a history professor at American University.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Stone also acknowledged multiple fact checks, sourcing and footnotes are listed in the making of this special.
